With the end of October 2025 came the completion of, muralist Maxfield Bala's latest mural. A large scale mural painting celebrating the town of Geyserville, California. A mural painting that stands over 13' tall and over 40' in length to highlight the community of Geyserville.
Driving north from Santa Rosa, past windsor and Healdsburg you will find the little town of Geyserville. A tight knit community home to wonderful wine and freidnly people. Within the center of town sat an open lot beckoning for a new mural, and accompanying scuplture garden that would become an art park. Maxfield Bala's mission was to create a mural to serve as the centerpiece for that art park.
The mural required more than a year to develop, secure funding for and finalize the approval on prior to once drop of paint graced the mural wall. Dozens of community reviewed concepts morphed into a concept that was reminiscent of a vintage fruit cart design catered to the history, community, and agricultural roots of Geyserville.
The mural moving from left to right features a variety of historic builings including the Red Barn, Oddfellows Hall and the Geo. M. Bosworth Builidng. A sprawling bright blue banner reads "Geyserville Est. 1851" atop a flowing river scene. A mMxican blanket sprawls across the background. A pomo basket gives way to a variety of histroic crops incluidng plums, Cabernet-Sauvignon grapes, a pear, and a California Golden Poppy, a pruning knife lays beside the basket to represent the labor required to farm the bounty of agricultural goods.
Maxfield Bala painted the mural over the course of once month using spray paints and acrylics.
