Our mission was to promote the grand opening of the new Woodward Riviera Maya facility at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in Mexico through a poolside mural made up of over 100 skateboards. Each skateboard was meticulously painted over to form this unique piece of artwork featuring local iconography pertaining to the Riviera Maya region and Woodward camps. The mural includes a toucan, Jaguar, skateboard, Day of the Dead Skull, clownfish, iguana, and a coconut drink. The was mural live painted over the course of five days by muralist Maxfield Bala. As part of the grand opening; action sports athletes, corporate executives and those who helped make Woodward's new location possible like Tony Hawk and Matt Hoffman were gifted with their very own custom skateboard from the mural. Visitors watched from the poolside as part of our live painting mural action over the course of five days leading up to the big unveil and gifting. The live mural painting stood over 12' tall and spanned just over 16' wide and was painted using aerosol spray paints.
