Our mission working with Petaluma Junior High School was to transform the unique roughly 1,300 square foot canvas spanning the length of the staff parking lot with a bright and bold mural representative of the school's academics, students and community. The mural includes a series of seven primary sections, panels sections overlaid across a unique framed wall which had prevented the ability to paint detailed content. Each section pays tribute to academic subjects including outdoor education, music, art, technology, athletics, and STEM subjects through a representative pool of diverse student portraits interacting with items related to the subject matter. The mural combines bright and bold colors with abstract shapes to help distribute the framed areas and provide a young, bright look. The mural was ultimately clear coated with a protective UV finish to help protect the project.
