Mural Location: San Francisco, Ca

(San Francisco, Bay Area)

In partnership with an electric scooter company, Bala Creative set out to design and paint a large-scale "Greeting From San Francisco" mural in one of the city's most iconic neighborhoods—Fisherman's Wharf. Inspired by the nostalgic charm of vintage “Greetings From” postcards, this mural reimagines the classic design as a vibrant, hand-painted tribute to San Francisco's rich history, culture, and architecture. The mural spans 13 feet tall by 18 feet wide and features meticulously illustrated letters, each filled with the city’s most recognizable landmarks and cultural icons. The “S” includes the Fisherman’s Wharf sign, the “A” depicts the Painted Ladies, and the “N” showcases the Palace of Fine Arts. The “F” highlights the Golden Gate Bridge, “R” brings Chinatown to life, and the second “A” represents San Francisco City Hall. The following “N” features Alcatraz Island, the “C” captures the winding curves of Lombard Street, and the “I” displays Coit Tower. The final “S” showcases the Bay Bridge, connecting San Francisco to Oakland, while the next “C” portrays the Ferry Building and the “O” features one of San Francisco’s iconic cable cars. The concluding “C” and “A” honor California’s state symbols: the quail and the golden poppy. More than just a photo op, this Greeting From San Francisco mural is a celebration of the city's diverse identity and a reminder of what makes it such a special place. Painted by mural artist Maxfield Bala, the mural is open to the public and is part of a larger initiative to transform the surrounding alley with public art. Visitors are encouraged to stop by, snap a picture, tag #greetingsfromSanFran, and check out the live webcam to watch the ongoing evolution of this creative space.
